What the heck is a monoprint?

A monoprint is a form of printmaking where the image can only be made once, unlike most printmaking which allows for multiple originals.

I use a gelli plate and a brayer to apply acrylic paint to the plate. Then I use a hand cut mask (a shape that is cut out of heavy paper) to create the shapes you see on my paintings. It is unpredictable and unbelievably fun to create this way!
